Pilates Was Buzzing Last Night

Last night’s class was such a fantastic buzz of energy — thank you to everyone who came along and made it so special.

We gave our usual Wednesday evening Pilates Sculpt Fusion a refreshing twist, stepping away from the Pilates balls and introducing something completely new: activation bands. It was our first time using them in class, and it’s safe to say they were a hit.

We paired them with the long Dyna Bands and, of course, didn’t forget the balance pods — creating a really dynamic and effective combination that challenged strength, control, and stability in all the right ways.

One of the biggest benefits of introducing activation bands into your Pilates practice is how effectively they support both strength and conditioning. The bands create constant tension throughout each movement, helping to activate deeper muscle groups — particularly those that support the spine and core. This not only helps to build strength in a controlled and low-impact way, but also improves muscular endurance over time.

By targeting those deep stabilising muscles, activation bands play a key role in supporting spinal health. A stronger, more supported spine can help reduce the risk of discomfort and injury, while also encouraging better alignment during both exercise and everyday movement. This naturally feeds into improved posture, as your body becomes more aware of how to hold itself correctly.

We also saw great benefits in balance and co-ordination. Using the bands alongside the balance pods challenged your body to stabilise in new ways, engaging smaller supporting muscles that are often overlooked. This helps to improve overall body awareness, control, and co-ordination — all key principles of Pilates.

It was especially lovely to hear your feedback and see how much you all enjoyed the new format. A full class once again and such a great atmosphere — it really makes all the difference, so thank you for bringing the energy and commitment as always.

Just a few gentle reminders to help everything run smoothly:

  • Please book in advance via the online platform — you won’t be able to turn up without a confirmed booking (including PAYG and class pass users). This helps manage class sizes safely and ensures enough equipment for everyone.

  • Classes are capped, and once full, you’ll need to join the waiting list. Please don’t attend without a confirmed space, as you won’t be able to join.

  • If you’re unsure whether you’re booked in, check your emails for confirmation and the 24-hour reminder. Class pass holders can also log in to view bookings and usage.

  • If you can’t attend, please let me know as early as possible. I leave at 6pm and won’t see messages after this. I understand emergencies happen and appreciate you letting me know when you can.

Finally, a polite reminder regarding the booking policy:

Once a class is purchased/booked, it is non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-transferable. This isn’t intended to be inflexible, but due to handling and merchant fees that I personally cover, I’m unable to process refunds or move bookings to other sessions. Please bear this in mind if I need to decline any such requests.

Thank you all again for your continued support — I’m already looking forward to the next session
